    Dear Cardinal Community,

I cannot tell you how excited I am to be introducing myself to you as the new Principal of Clear Lake High School. My name is Shaun Roderick, and I am here as a guide and resource for you as we navigate through what should be the four most memorable years of a student’s education.

I have had the privilege of working on small rural high school campuses for the last 13 years of my educational career. During this time, I have had the opportunity to learn about the needs of students socially, emotionally, and academically. I have also witnessed educators dedicate an endless amount of time to provide their students the best education possible. My K-12 background brings a unique perspective as my educational philosophy follows that of educating the whole child. Meaning, although your students are in high school, we as an educational institution will continue to provide guidance and support to your adolescent.  I have most recently served as the Assistant Principal at Clear Lake High School for the last two years. I felt a genuine welcome and built relationships with a fantastic group of students, parents, and staff during this time. Moving into the principalship feels like a natural transition. I envision our students continuing with the excellence they know and graduating from Clear Lake High School college and career ready. I promise to dedicate my time to support the Cardinal Community.

As we embark on the upcoming school year, I want you to know that my primary goals are:

    1.  Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all students,  staff, and families.
    2.  Communicate openly and often about the school, events, and opportunities.
    3.  Ensure that all students can succeed and reach their goals.
    4.  Carry on the strong traditions of Clear Lake High School.

Moving towards the start of school, I want to make sure that you know that my staff and I are here to help and support your student and their success. Please reach out and contact your student’s teachers, counselor, athletic director, or school administration if you have questions or concerns. We will always do our best to support your student in their quest to reach their goals, no matter where their path takes them.

I look forward to seeing you at games, performances, and events as we return to school. Please feel free to stop by and meet with me. I am eager to hear how I can serve the school community.  My door is always open.

    Thank you, and Go, Cardinals!
