Mrs. Melanie Sturr

My name is Melanie Sturr and this is my 21st year teaching. I am very excited about coming back to Terrace and teaching 8th grade! I have 5 sons, two granddaughters and two grandsons. I have two BA degrees - one in English Literature and one in Communications from Mills College in Oakland, CA and earned my teaching credential at Cal State East Bay. I have taught every grade level K-8, and I have worked as a Reading Intervention Specialist for a private company in Fresno.

  • Class Plan

    This year, the students will read two novels, “The House on Mango Street” and “Refugee”. Additionally, the students will write a screenplay, take part in filming selected student screenplays, and develop a website from research.  English in 8th grade focuses on the California state standards.
