I am an enthusiastic 3rd grade teacher at Lakeport Elementary School. I enjoy teaching the academic and interpersonal skills that will help the children in our community become well equipped to enter the future as strong leaders and productive democratic citizens. I believe that making each student feel welcomed and valued in the community, school, and classroom is the foundation for school success. 

I grew up in New England and moved to California in 2011. I relocated to Lakeport last year and have already come to enjoy the tight knit and close community here. I am a parent and feel that this helps me to balance the perspective of other parents with the responsibilities and roles that I fill as a teacher.

I have several years of experience working with elementary aged students in mainstream as well as special education settings. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sonoma State University in Liberal Studies. During my time at Sonoma State I took courses which provided me with a strong understanding of child development, educational psychology, and Native American studies. 

My goal as an educator is to make a difference in the lives of others and help children realize their full potential and personal value as an important part of a larger community.
